Map To Move Surveyor’s Thursday — Hambrick & Fredrickson’s Strategy Diamond
Intro – From Many Tools to One Coherent Strategy Over the last months, Land Surveyors Ltd. has built an impressive toolbox: PESTLE & Porter to understand external pressures and competitive intensity. SWOT & VRIO to clarify what really makes the firm strong. I Segmentation, Value Proposition Canvas, Competitor Analysis to focus on the right clients and offers in D/A/CH. BCG & Ansoff to prioritise which services to grow and how. Business Model Canvas & Strategy Canvas / Blue Ocean to shift from “selling surveys” to “selling assurance and reusable data”. Scenario Planning, Scenario Analysis & Financial Forecasting, and McKinsey’s Three Horizons to test that strategy against different futures and stage growth over time. The result is a rich set of insights. But a different, sharper question now appears: “𝗗𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 – 𝗼𝗿 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗲𝘀?” This is exactly the challenge that Hambrick & Fredrick

Map To Move ✈️ Aerial Tuesday — From Many Tools to One Coherent Strategy
Intro – Hambrick & Fredrickson’s Strategy Diamond Over the past months, Map From Above Ltd. has built a full strategic foundation in the D/A/CH aerial surveying market: PESTLE & Porter to understand pressures in European aerial surveying. SWOT & VRIO to clarify strengths and real advantages. Segmentation, Value Proposition Canvas, Competitor Analysis to define where to play and how to stand out. BCG & Ansoff to prioritise growth paths and service bets. Business Model Canvas & Strategy Canvas / Blue Ocean to pivot from “winning tenders” to “fly once – sell many times” value propositions. Scenario Planning, Financial Forecasting, and McKinsey’s Three Horizons to stress-test that strategy across futures and stage growth over time. The toolbox is full. The leadership team now faces a different question: “𝗗𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 – 𝗼𝗿 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗲𝘀?” This is where Hambrick & Fredrickson’s Strategy Diamo

Map To Move📍 Surveyor’s Thursday — From Strategy and Scenarios to a Time-Based Roadmap
Over the last months, Land Surveyors Ltd. has done the heavy strategic lifting:PESTLE and Porter to understand external pressures and competitive intensity. SWOT and VRIO to clarify real strengths and advantages. BCG and Ansoff to decide where to focus and how to grow. Business Model Canvas and Blue Ocean/Strategy Canvas to shift from “selling surveys” to “selling assurance and reusable data”. Scenario Planning and Scenario Analysis + Financial Forecasting to test those choices against very different futures, revenue bands, and margin structures. The picture is now clear: Assured BIM Surveys and corridor/structural monitoring are the economic engines. QA & validation services and recurring monitoring subscriptions stabilise cash flow. Shared-IP, “measure once – use many times” models become highly attractive in several 2030 scenarios. The big question is no longer what to do, but when and in what sequence: “How do we keep today’s projects profitable and crews fully utilised, while buil

Map To Move ✈️ Aerial Tuesday — McKinsey’s Three Horizons: Staging Growth
Over the past months, Map From Above Ltd. has built a full strategic foundation: PESTLE & Porter to understand pressures in European aerial surveying. SWOT & VRIO to clarify strengths and advantages. Segmentation, Value Proposition Canvas & BCG/Ansoff to choose where to play and how to grow in D/A/CH. Strategy Canvas & Blue Ocean to pivot from “winning tenders” to “fly once – sell many times” subscriptions. Scenario Planning & Financial Forecasting to stress-test that strategy against very different futures and numbers. The big question now is no longer what to do, but when and in what sequence: How do we keep aircraft and teams fully utilised this year, while building the subscription and data-services business that will pay the bills in five years? To answer this, the management team uses McKinsey’s Three Horizons framework – a simple way to stage initiatives across Horizon 1 (core), Horizon 2 (growth engines), and Horizon 3 (future options) and manage them in parallel. Map To Move📍 Surveyor’s Thursday — Scenario Analysis & Financial Forecasting
Intro – Strategy Without Numbers Is Just a PowerPoint Over the past weeks, Land Surveyors Ltd. has built a strategic foundation: PESTLE to understand external pressures Porter to understand competitive intensity SWOT/VRIO to identify real differentiators BCG & Ansoff to clarify growth options Business Model Canvas & Blue Ocean to create a more stable, value-driven business Scenario Planning to explore how the world may look by 2030 Today, the question becomes more concrete: “If each scenario actually happens, what does that mean for our revenue, margin, cash flow, and staffing?” For a small surveying SME with high dependency on project cycles, accuracy requirements, and labour-intensive delivery, financial forecasting is the defining step that tests strategic realism. Tool & Results — Scenario Analysis + Financial Forecasting A five-year forward model was built, using assumptions rooted in the company’s real structure: Current Company Profile (from Use Case PDF) Core work: cadastral su

Map To Move ✈️ Aerial Tuesday — Scenario Analysis & Financial Forecasting
Intro – Strategy Is Nothing Without Numbers Last week, Map From Above Ltd. explored three plausible futures through Scenario Planning: Subscription Skies – recurring data subscriptions become mainstream Tender Trap – low-price, project-based tenders dominate Regulated Reliability – QA, liability, and shared IP models reshape the market Today, the management team takes the next step: How will each scenario affect revenue, cost, cash flow, and capital needs? This is where Scenario Analysis + Financial Forecasting comes in — not to guess the future, but to quantify the consequences of strategic choices. For an aerial survey SME like Map From Above Ltd., this tool is essential. With aircraft ownership, sensor amortisation, processing staff, and high fixed costs, the company’s financial health depends heavily on: utilisation rates, number of capture campaigns, margin structure, subscription uptake, and IP flexibility. Financial forecasting helps answer the question: Which strategy is financ
